Blood Sensitive Imaging (BSI)

Susceptibility Imaging

T2* weighted sequence provides non-contrast imaging solution using deoxygenated blood as a natural contrast agent. T2* imaging is sensitive to differences in magnetic susceptibility of adjacent tissues allowing for high resolution venographic images. BSI employs an optimized bandwidth reducing chemical shift and blurring. Susceptibility imaging is used to aid in the diagnosis of brain hemorrhagic stroke, microbleeds, and more recently used in the assessment of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
