The study of the small and large bowel for assessing inflammatory disease, specifically Crohn’s disease is accomplished using a variety of sequences. Echelon Oval offers a robust suite for superb images including HOAST to ensure uniform large FOV fat saturation and RAPID-RADAR for fast motion compensated acquisitions. A motility scan is acquired free breathing with and without Fat Saturation using Balanced SARGE (BASG) sequence and cine display to visualize gross peristaltic movement. FatSep RSSG is another key sequence providing uniform fat suppression while minimizing artifacts commonly seen from air and bowel interfacing. TIGRE dynamic acquisitions are performed to look for the progressive transmural bowel wall enhancement pattern.
